Privacy & Safety
This notice describes the application code as published in this repository. It is not a promise about the practices of third-party infrastructure providers.
Information processed
Your nickname may be stored in your own browser's local storage so it appears again when you return. A randomly generated reconnect identifier is stored in session storage. Room codes, chat messages, love notes, scores and game progress are kept in browser memory during an active session. The app does not implement user accounts or a database to store messages permanently.
Connections and voice
Love Arcade uses PeerJS for connection signaling and WebRTC to exchange game state, messages and optional microphone audio with the other player. A third-party signaling provider and your network operators may process IP addresses or connection metadata needed to connect players. Browser microphone access requires your permission. The app does not include a voice recording or upload feature, but the other participant could independently record what they hear.
Watch Together and YouTube
When you open the Together Lounge and select a YouTube video, your browser loads YouTube's embedded player directly and video thumbnails from YouTube infrastructure. YouTube and Google may receive your IP address, device details, playback activity, and cookies or other identifiers according to their own services and privacy practices. You can review the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms. Love Arcade sends only the chosen video IDs, queue, playback timing and emoji reactions to the other participant over the peer-to-peer room connection. It does not proxy, record or permanently store the videos or watch history. A shared room link is not an account or a private YouTube viewing license; video availability depends on YouTube's rules and uploader restrictions.
Retention and room access
Leaving the room clears the app's in-memory session state on your device. Closing or reloading the hosting tab ends the room. A nickname may remain stored locally until you clear this site's browser storage. A room code acts as an invite secret; anyone who possesses it could attempt to enter an available room. Do not share it publicly.
Safety tips
Only connect with someone you trust. Do not share passwords, government IDs, banking information or sensitive secrets in chat or notes. Voice and peer-to-peer connections can fail on restrictive networks. You can decline calls, mute your microphone, hang up, leave a room or skip challenges at any time.
